As I walked around the field of RSPB's Otmoor site it became clearer and clearer to me that no one has a clue what measures will be put into place to protect the environment in the long term when we leave the EU.

This is very worrying - the work carried out at Otmoor, including cultivation of food beds for vulnerable birds like the turtle dove, is absolutely vital in ensuring the UK still enjoys being home to many birds that were once common but are now on the brink of extinction.
Since 2014, the Otmoor Reserve has received more than £1.2 million of EU funding. It is estimated the UK as a whole receives more than £2bn annually for the delivery of environmental projects and charities in the 2014-2020 round of funding.
If the dedicated people working on these sites feel the Government is leaving them just as in the dark as all of us as to what happens after we leave the EU this is unfair, and no way to reward their commitment.
This work protects vulnerable species – the no deal predictions once we leave could very easily mean the UK would have to wave goodbye to so many of these beautiful creatures that make the British countryside some of the most biodiverse in Europe.
