Catherine Bearder MEP will be fighting to ensure British holidaymakers still enjoy free, visa-free travel across Europe.
This week the EU announced plans for a European Travel Information System, which could see British holidaymakers left outside in the cold and having to pay fees and complete lengthy paperwork to travel abroad.
In 2015 more than 8 million people travelled to Europe from the Port of Dover and the Channel Tunnel.
The Liberal Democrat MEP, who campaigned extensively in Kent to keep the UK in the EU, said:
“There is now a high risk that people wishing to travel to Europe through Kent will have to fill out lengthy paperwork and pay for the right.
“Brexit could very well mean an end to the days when you can simply jump in your car or pitch up at a train station one hour and end up in France the next.
“I will be doing all I can to ensure Brits continue to enjoy freedom of movement and Europeans enjoy the same rights when visiting Britain.”
