This year was an absolutely packed conference for me and my team - we organised two fringes ourselves and collaborated on a further two.
For our first fringe we had an absolutely packed room to listen to Vince Cable and Jo Swinson together with Martin Bailey from Pro-Europa and Omar Khan from the Runnymede Trust to discuss the implication of Brexit both sides of the Channel. At our second fringe I was delighted to be able to welcome World Mayor winner and ALDE member of the Committee of the Regions, Bart Somers who won his prize for bringing together disparate communities at his town in Belgium. This was a really thought provoking session and I know the audience went away fizzing with ideas about how they could bring some of Bart's schemes to fruition in their own areas.
What's more, my motion on EURATOM was unanimously passed (thanks to Layla for summating this) and I was delighted to be able to speak for the amendment to the Europe motion which confirms we stick to our guns with our strategy of a vote on the terms of the deal.
I returned to Brussels the week after refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to continue spreading the word: the Liberal Democrats are spearheading the campaign for an Exit from Brexit so please don't give up on the UK yet!
